Mantaflow is a open-source framework for fluid simulation,
developed by Nils Thurey and myself at ETH Zurich. It can be scripted
and easily extended, which makes it easy to develop and test
new algorithms without reinventing the basics.
It is used extensively by both artists-- Mantaflow is the fluid simulator
included in Blender-- as well as researchers in Computer Graphics.

ArcSim is a thin shell and cloth simulator. It was developed by Rahul Narain, Armin Samii
and myself at UC Berkeley. ArcSim allows very realistic
simulation of cloth and shell dynamics, as well as fracture.
It is used by researchers in Computer Graphics, and also powers Gerber's
Accumark3d garment design software.
